Food Label Consultation
Label approval is needed:
To prove the label on the packaging complies with the Food Regulations 1985 requirements.
The only way to show the product has been registered because there is officially no food product registration.
Sometimes required for MeSTI, GMP, HACCP or Halal application.
To register products with the Ministry of Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs for Direct Selling companies.
When you import products from overseas and to show to the Customs Department for clearance.
To apply Free Sale Certificate or Health Certificate.
Submission fee: RM 250 per product for Label Screening (Semakan Label).
Completion time: 7 working days to 3 weeks maximum upon submission, based on the package chosen.
Food Product Classification
Product classification is needed:
If you are not sure whether your product is under food or supplement or traditional.
To check whether you need to register MAL with NPRA (National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency) or refer to the FSQ (Food Safety & Quality Division) for your product.
Customer questions about product registration or safety.
Contains health claims.
If requested by any certification body.
Need to register the product with the Ministry of Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs for Direct Selling companies.
To apply Free Sale Certificate or Health Certificate.
Submission fee: RM 300 per product.
Completion time: 2-3 weeks upon submission.
Export Certificate: Free Sale/Health Certificate
Application will be processed by district or state Health office, but have to submit application into the FOSIM system first.
Need to check with the authority in the importing country on which certificate is required because it's different from each country.
Factory that has certification from the Ministry of Health Malaysia, such as MeSTI, GMP and HACCP, will get faster approval than certification from private certification body.
We only provide this service for factories around Klang Valley only.
Submission fee:
Free Sale Certificate: RM 100 per certificate (up to 25 products)/country, valid for 6 months.
Health Certificate: RM 100 per certificate (up to 25 products) for HACCP by MoH, RM 300 for HACCP by other certification body.
Completion time: 1 week.
